Text messaging or SMS is an additional and optional method of communication provided by our web service to you, our customer.
Please read this policy before enabling the text messaging service or submitting your cell phone number.
By enabling the text messaging option in your EmailLargeFile account, you are accepting the practices described in this policy.
These practices may be changed, but any changes will be posted and changes will only
apply to activities and information on a going forward, not retroactive basis. You are encouraged to review this policy from time to time
to make sure that you understand how our SMS/text messaging is implemented.
Note: the practices set forth in this policy are for EmailLargeFile only. If you link to other web sites, please review the policies posted at those sites.
Only three types of text messages may be generated and sent to you by our web service.
a) to confirm the cell phone number and ensure that it is capable of receiving text messages from us.
b) to notify you that a file package has been received by the recipient, and only if you request us to do so.
c) The third type of message may be sent to provide further user identification and authentication (see two-factor authentication).
We never send any other SMS or text messages to our customers. If you receive anything other than the above, appearing to be originated by EmailLargeFile,
please inform our customer service immediately so we can report the offender to proper authorities.
Due to the nature of our web service, we collect certain personally identifiable information such as name, postal addresses, email addresses, organization name, location,
cell phone numbers, etc., when such information is submitted by our users or visitors. This information is strictly used to fulfill the primary purpose of this service, or your specific requests,
unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example to add you to our mailing list.
The cell phone numbers collected for the purpose of SMS/text notifications, appear in our database only when they are entered by our users, and stay until the users
remove them. When a user deletes a phone number from his or her account, the number gets purged from the user record and becomes unavailable.
Historical logs, if enabled, are stored indefinitely. No information is sold or given out to 3rd parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
EmailLargeFile does its best to provide its customers with the service it is designed for. In regards to the text messaging we do our best to submit the message request to the mobile provider, but we do not guarantee the delivery of the text message to your mobile device.
You as our customer understand that due to the business model used by Mobile or Cell service providers, the mobile or cell service providers may charge their customer (you) certain fees for delivering SMS or text messages. It is your obligation as a customer of a Cell phone provider company to learn about the cost of such service, surcharges, overcharges and fees. EmailLargeFile, its owner Netellect LLC, its employees, agents or contractors cannot be held responsible for undelivered SMS-, text-, or e-mail messages, neither for any consequences or material losses directly or indirectly incurred by customers due to undelivered notifications, since message delivery depends on multiple service providers, including but not limited to Internet- and Mobile/Cell phone service providers. You as an EmailLargeFile customer agree not to hold EmailLargeFile or its owner Netellect LLC responsible for any expenses or surcharges applied by Internet- or Cell phone service providers to you as their customer.
EmailLargeFile and Netellect LLC will NOT send unsolicited SMS or text messages, NEITHER will they place unsolicited phone calls to any phone numbers acquired via EmailLargeFile service. At no time will the phone numbers be sold, traded, exchanged, or given to any 3rd party. The information is NOT provided to anyone for marketing purposes. We may share information with government agencies solely for the purpose of fraud prevention or investigation on unlawful activities. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place.
Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only our authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. We periodically run security audits to verify and improve the data protection methods. The site uses the latest security techniques, but we are unable to completely guarantee the absolute and permanent protection given the open nature of the world wide web.
By submitting your cell phone number and/or enabling SMS/text messaging option, you hereby consent to this policy and agree to our terms.
